But I wasn’t allowed to remind myself that I was too.
I walked through the front door carrying a fresh bouquet of flowers I’d bought for myself.
Travis was waiting for me in the living room.
Pacing.
Red-faced.
Furious.
Clutching his phone.
“Do you think this is funny?”
“Very.”
“Everyone is looking at that picture.”
“Good. That’s the entire point of posting pictures.”
He clenched his jaw so hard I thought his teeth would crack.
“You’re acting like you’re single.”
I casually arranged my flowers in a vase on the table.
“And you’re acting like a man who misses being single.”
He went totally quiet.
But right then, his phone buzzed.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
He glanced at the screen and tried to hide it way too fast.
But I managed to catch the name on the lock screen.
Madison.
I smiled.
“Answer it.”
“It’s nothing,” he stammered.
“Then answer it.”
The phone buzzed one more time.
This time, the notification preview popped up in full view, bright and impossible to ignore.
“Travis, tell your wife to stop copying me… or I’ll send her the photos you actually begged me for.”
